My name is Bija, and I was born and raised in South Africa then...here I am. My love for hair began at a young age, when I would braid my little sister’s hair and experiment with different styles. Before I knew it, what started as a childhood passion quickly grew into a skill that I nurtured and sharpened over the years.
Since 2019, I’ve been dedicated to braiding professionally, and it has now been almost a decade of doing what I love. For me, braiding is more than just a protective hairstyle, it’s a form of art, self-expression, and most importantly, culture. 
I’ve had the privilege of working with clients of all races and backgrounds, though most of my work has been with the Black community, where African hairstyles hold deep cultural roots.
What brings me the most joy is not just the braids themselves, but the reactions of my clients when they see the finished look. I truly believe that every person is already beautiful, and my work simply enhances the confidence and beauty that’s already within.
